This song could also come from mesh, Camouflage, Minerve or Depeche Mode, because it carries the listener off into the colourful world of fun in a classic electropop sound and a catchy melody.
story
“the fun fair of life” has countless paths ready for the couple, leading past roller coasters, Ferris wheels, car scooters, boat swings, chain carousels, and much more.
Each of these rides holds life’s challenges, which the couple will grow from. Friends accompany them, helping in difficult times.
Their love always grows stronger and it always helps to stick together. But you can also let your inner child steer you to the next attraction and get new inspiration.
Sound
The basic sound is based on classic SynthPop, a mystical and somewhat dramatic sound accompanies the partly adventurous rides/life situations in the verse, which however always turns to good in the chorus.
In fact, the lead sound is not a guitar but a piano processed to the point of unrecognizability by sound design.
All in all, sound design is integrated in many details in this song. For example, Stefan has often encountered the intro sound in a similar form in digital video editing. It sounds somehow crazy and funny and of course had to be used. Of course, classic fairground sounds are also included. Each time you listen to it again, you are sure to discover something new.
Music video
To support the individual text passages, a video was edited together from countless funfair
recordings. Most of the recordings were made at various funfairs in North Rhine-Westphalia. Other
recordings were made with the kind support of video communities.
Stefan also performs here in the funfair director suit specially developed
for the song.
Live
For the live performance, a fun fair director suit was developed
especially for this song, consisting of a jacket, stick and hat and
equipped with many LEDs.
There is also a small screen integrated into the hat in which the fun fair
video can be seen. This suit can also be seen in the music video.
A big thank you for this suit goes to the on-board “Needle Goddess” Ela
Wilke, who is responsible for the design and realisation.
Other details
The song is dedicated to Stefan’s love of his life and wife.
The EP contains other versions of the song, ranging from 3:42 min. to 7:47 min.

“go for”
What used to be called a B-side is included here with the instrumental version of “go for”. This is also a very catchy SynthPop song.
It was in the hangar for a long time, never produced, but never forgotten. The melody goes straight into the brain as an earworm and that’s probably why it has always been able to push itself to the forefront of Stefan’s mind. One fine day he finally convinced Stefan to finish it.
The version with vocals will be on a later release.
