I was allowed to give a small concert at a friend’s garden party in Cologne.
In order not to go beyond the scope of the party, we had agreed on 20 minutes and the blue flight path, i.e. the songs and versions from the more classic electronic, big beat and synthpop genres.
It was overwhelming to be able to look into fascinated and enthusiastic faces from a stage again after a long time.
I hadn’t expected that. After all, it was a garden party and the audience was therefore very mixed. But all the guests were spellbound and even other neighbours had joined my spectacle.
Technically, it was very exciting. Due to various innovations and simplifications, a large part of the show had its premiere. It all worked perfectly and is now a good basis for complete concerts or festivals.
The performance with the laser harp was a bit risky. Fog is essential for this, as otherwise the strings are not visible. However, in an open-air situation, the wind can blow it away in a matter of seconds and the strings are invisible. Even though it was quite gusty during the day, the weather gods were kind to me and held back the wind in the evening. So it worked out quite well.
So well, in fact, that I was allowed to play it again as an encore.
I had some great conversations after the concert. My concert had probably surprised everyone and created a great atmosphere. For example, I received feedback from both an 80-year-old and an 18-year-old who were totally inspired and had never seen anything like it before. So my concept also seems to work across generations.
A brilliant start to my plans to give more concerts in the coming months.
